Transformers movie

ok here is something defiantly that needs to be discussed the release of the new Transformers movie Rise of the Fallen. I do have to say that overall excellent job by the director to just at the right touches to the film. Great story line stayed in sequence of the comic book and childhood T.V. series. The resurrection of the older Autobots and Decepticons was truly a stroke of genius.

The film theatricality was very well put together. Edited transitions to the special effects gave this film its edge to be proclaimed film of the summer in my book. t2 Pictures, Images and Photos

The interview process brought to you by Skype

Well some very interesting information to better my guest interviews with the power of Skype. Skype is an internet based instant messaging and video chat program that allows its users to keep in touch with other contacts with the power of Skype this will allow my podcast to reach a crossed the united states to bring you guest from the west coast to the east coast.

Professor Moyano introduced this innovative idea to me. She did and experiment to see if it would work to crate an audio interview with one of the students and record it on Garage Band. Needless to say that the audio quality was excellent and it sounded just like a phone conversation. I will defiantly be using this to generate my interviews.Skype Pictures, Images and Photos

New content

Well this weekend I was researching a paper that another professor asked me to write explaining what is pop culture. A light came one and gave me an idea for the podcast. I should bring in students that like to express their views on specific topics like pop culture, music and movies. Everyone should get some air time so that they have experience being in the lime light.Photobucket

This special segment i need a name for but can not think of anything at the moment. This can be used as a package or even a bit for on the site audio for pre-recordings. The last thing I need to get is some good mic's. the sound quality from the mac computers are horrible but lets see if Carlos can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

The first VO

Hmmmmm... I do have to say that my first V.O. for the Institute for Communication Entertainment and Media was a sloppy success. Its a start to get things of the ground for the podcast with some V.O. commercials. I was thinking of doing a coupe more for the other departments of the university. Might have to get some more research. As they always say practice makes almost perfect.

I think that these V.o.'s will help me train my voice and articulate me a lot better when I launch the radio podcast. We shall see in time, what i need to do is actually get together with Steve Branik from the Paul and Young Ron show. May be he can give me some pointers. Hopefully I can get him for a interview. Cross my fingers.

Some Guide Lines of Radio by Valerie Geller

- Speak in term's your listener can "picture". Use Details. Describe the little things so your audience can "see" what you are talking about.
-Always start your Show with something very interesting. This ought to be obvious but often isn't.
-Tell the TRUTH.
-Never be boring
-If something is big or important is happening today, go with it.
-listen to your station, even when your not on air
-Make your program matter. Use your own life as a show resource.
-Bury the dead: If a topic is overdone drop it.
-If you are live on-air, anything goes! but anything pre-recorded should be perfect
-It is ok to brag about yourself- If it's good.
-Brag about other people's stuff. If another host on your station had a "magic moment", talk about it.
-If you don't know anything. it's ok to say so. Your audience will love to know that you are like them
-Do smooth and interesting transitions to other hosts and shows. Support them
-be who you are on radio
-Risk. Try things. Dare to be great!

Creating Powerful Radio:Getting, Keeping and Growing Audiences

Recording/Script

Well today is where we make our giant leap into the radio media world. I have developed a script for a commercial for the launch date of this radio podcast and also implementing the advertising for Saint Thomas University's Institute of Communication, Entertainment, and Media. This radio commercial will have to be entertaining and inviting to some of the innovations brought to you by STU.
The classes that I want to promote when I do my piece is Speaking on Radio and Television, Speech, and Oral Interpretation. These classes are what I think are necessary to conduct a professional radio platform for the universities involvement in different media outlets. Speech and Oral Interpretation are the building blocks for creating your voice range and confidence to speak publicly. Speaking on Radio and Television will bring the student to the next level by creating an on air personality and equipment overview better understand the makings of a successful radio podcast broadcast.

What will we say to the masses?

thinking cramp Pictures, Images and Photos Well after careful deliberation and sleepless hours I have come up with a solution. One of the most difficult things to put together is the content of a radio broadcast. Once again Paul and Young Ron's influence has rubbed off on me. I was personal thinking of a mix of music, comedy, guests, and news which WSTU 95.1 would be most productive. It will cover all the basic elements of radio. The Solution cropped.bmp.png Pictures, Images and Photos
The next question that I bring to the table is how many and when there will be a broadcast. This question again will be presented to a group of students and teachers so that not only will this be my creation but influenced by the Saint Thomas University Family.
